Unfortunately for the Albatross on the tiny atoll of Middway in the centre of the remote North Pacific Ocean, the mass consumption of plastic is having a tragic environmental impact on these majestic birds.
The image you see on our homepage was taken by Internationally acclaimed artist Chris Jordan. He and a group of his artist friends have been returning to Middway over the past 8 years to photograph and film thousands of young albatrosses that lay dead on the ground or suffering a slow painful death, all with plastic in their stomachs.
